The Vimalakirti Sutra
Dates: Thursdays, 7:00 - 8:30 pm PT, May 14th-June 4th
In this 4-week class we will study the teachings of layman Vimalakirti as he preaches to the heavenly Bodhisattvas from his sick bed. As the bodhisattvas hesitate, decline, express reluctance, and seek their places, Vimalakirti declares that “because all human beings are sick, I am sick.” Can our sickness become the medicine?
Shunryu Suzuki Study Group
Mondays 5:30 PT
Drawing from published books as well as the Suzuki Roshi archives, this study group is distinct from a class in that it is ongoing, with content shifting with time and interest - as opposed to a syllabus with a plan and expectations. Individual and shared engagement in relation to these teachings are the true value.

Becoming Yourself: Teachings on the Zen Way of Life
Eihei Dogen Study Group
Tuesdays 5:30 PT
We have found that studying Dogen together is very rich, not only for what Dogen has to say but most importantly how our insights jump into life and flourish in each other’s speech. What Dogen has amplified for us is a playful confidence in describing zazen and our daily life, and in these gatherings the strong encouragement to explore and express it together.
